Alpha Media, Mankato Raises Over $63,000 for St. Jude
Mankato, MN, March 29, 2017 – Alpha Media, Mankato stations KYSM, KRBI, KEEZ, and KMKO raised $63,885 with their St. Jude Cares for Kids Radiothon. The radiothon was held March 23-24.
This was Mankato’s 16th year doing the radiothon. The Mayors of Mankato and North Mankato proclaimed the month of March as St. Jude Month. Local area bars and restaurants sold specially created cocktails and had profits go toward the radiothon. A local petroleum company also partnered with Alpha Media, Mankato by doing “Pennies at the Pump,” where two cents from every gallon bought during the month of March would go toward St. Jude.
Alpha Media, Mankato Market Manager, Bob Rose commented on the announcement, “I am so proud of the Mankato team for their tireless efforts in hosting our 16th annual radiothon for St. Jude Kids. Each person who works at the radio station is a strong believer in the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It’s because of their beliefs and passion that we were able to achieve new fundraising records in our communities.”
“In the four years that I have worked for ALSAC/St. Jude, I have never wanted to stay at an event so bad until last week. Alpha Media, Mankato is so passionate for the kids of St. Jude and it shows in their dedication and amount of work put into this radiothon,” remarked Callie Scheving, ALSAC Senior Regional Development Representative.
