Local Sales Manager
Alpha Media – Topeka, Kansas is seeking an experienced, dynamic, results-driven Sales Manager for 94.5 Country, Country Legends 106.9, 580 WIBW and Oldies 98.5. The ideal candidate is someone who is focused on training and aiding Account Executives in their growth as well as generating leads and revenue for our local client partners.

Responsibilities for this position may include:
- Assist the Director of Sales in managing sales activities on our four radio stations.
- Work with Account Executives to prospect and close sponsorships for Country Stampede, Bridal Fair, Fiesta Mexicana, Farm Profit Seminars, and other marketing opportunities.
- Direct Account Executives to successfully uncover and close new, non-radio advertisers utilizing plans comprised of local spot and/or digital and event sponsorships.
- Lead stations to achieve annual Key Initiatives, including the following –
- Business development revenue through marketing workshops
- Cluster based selling
- Digital revenue
- Event and sales promotion revenue
- Train Account Executives in both on-air and online sales applications.
- Assist Account Executives in selling new digital programs and initiatives generated by Alpha Media.
- Ensure that tools provided by Alpha Media are used effectively.
- Lead individual and group brainstorm sessions to uncover creative solutions for client assignments.
- Accompany Account Executives on sales calls when necessary.
- Coach Account Executives with new business cold-calls and conference calls.
- Manage, coach, motivate, and train new Account Executives.
- Assist in planning and participate in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.
- Negotiate direct and agency business.
- Approve sales contracts.
- Ensure attainment of monthly, quarterly, and annual local + NTR + digital budget goals.
- Assist Market Manager and DOS in forecasting local + NTR + digital revenue projection.
Requirements of this position include the following:
- A minimum two years’ experience in successful sales with a verifiable track record.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient prospecting and business development skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Must be an enthusiastic and hardworking person who exudes passion for Alpha Media’s unique platform and value proposition.
- This position requires a fully insured personal vehicle and valid driver license.
Preference may be given to candidates who have the above experience plus the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Experience building strategic presentations and dynamically presenting them to clients.
