San Antonio Holds 9th Annual Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner Radiothon
SAN ANTONIO, TX, October 25, 2016 – Alpha Media, San Antonio held the 9th Annual Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner Radiothon on Friday, October 21st in the Alamo Lounge. The radiothon raised over $131,000 to go towards the largest Thanksgiving dinner in the country.
The Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner, named after the late Raul Jimenez, a local restaurateur, commenced 36 years ago serving meals to a couple of hundred people in need. The tradition called “A Feast of the Heart” has continued annually orchestrated by Mr. Jimenez’s daughter Patricia Jimenez. Today the event serves Thanksgiving Day meals to over 25,000 of most needy and elderly in San Antonio.
Alpha Media Operations Director, Greg Martin commented on the announcement, “It’s a great joy to partner with an organization that is pure San Antonio and gives back to the community in a big way each year.”
“We’re appreciative of Alpha Media for hosting the radiothon for a ninth straight year and the generosity of the San Antonio community never ceases to amaze us. This was a record-breaking year of giving, and while we were so incredibly thrilled at the response, we were not surprised at the giving nature of the individuals that make up this great city. The support will enable us to create an unforgettable experience at our community table on Thanksgiving Day. It is truly a feast of the heart, in every sense of the word,” remarked Patricia.
