Waukegan-Kenosha’s 102.3 XLC Raises $100,000 for Home of the Sparrow

WAUKEGAN, IL, May 17, 2017 – Alpha Media, Waukegan-Kenosha is proud to announce 102.3 WXLC raised $100,000 for Home of the Sparrow at their 30th Anniversary Gala: Celebrating the Past, Present, and Future. The Gala was held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 

During this black tie optional event, attendees could take self-guided tours of the estate, view phenomenal collections, and attend a concert performed by renowned organist, R. Jelani Eddington. Hors d’oeuvres were served along with an open bar and exquisite dinner to follow. In addition, an auction and short program featuring women who benefited from Home of the Sparrow took place.

102.3 XLC Program Director, Haynes Johns commented on the announcement, “We are glad we could support Home of the Sparrow and help make a difference with our neighbors and community!”

Home of the Sparrow is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization which provides Transitional Shelter, Affordable Housing and Supportive Services to hundreds of homeless women and children within McHenry County and Northern Illinois each year. They provided services to over 800 women and children in 2016.
