Waukegan’s 102.3 XLC Raises Over $18,000 for St. Baldrick’s
WAUKEGAN, IL, March 29, 2017 – Alpha Media, Waukegan-Kenosha is proud to announce 102.3 XLC (WXLC-FM) raised $18,719 for St. Baldrick’s during their annual Hair for Hope event. The event was held March 19 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at the Green Town Tavern in Waukegan.
The 102.3 XLC Morning Show with Jimmy & Lisa broadcasted live from the event. Producer, Tommy B., raised funds by volunteering to get his head shaved, along with the 102.3 XLC News Reporter, Tim Vander Tuuk’s son, Jacob. The fundraiser also held a 50/50 raffle and various prize giveaways including, a Bahamas cruise vacation, trip to Las Vegas, an LED TV, and concert tickets.
Alpha Media, Waukegan-Kenosha Market Manager, Karl Wertzler commented on the announcement, “102.3 XLC is proud to continue this partnership to make a positive difference with kids and their families.”
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
