Alaska’s 106.5 KWHL Raises Over $43,000 During Toys for Tots
Alpha Media, Alaska is proud to announce 106.5 KWHL collaborated with the U.S. Marines to raise over $43,000 and received thousands of donated toys during their 25th Annual Toys for Tots toy drive.
During the three-day event, December 13th-15th, the 106.5 KWHL on-air team broadcasted live from 7am-7pm in the Toys for Tots RV in the SEARS parking lot. As they received donations and toys, the KWHL staff had the chance to meet some of the loyal KWHL fans and their families. Local businesses provided food, drinks and prizes to the hundreds of listeners who contributed to giving an Alaskan child a Merry Christmas this holiday season.
106.5 KWHL Program Director, Brad Stennett commented on the announcement, “People don’t realize this drive isn’t just for Anchorage, but for the entire state of Alaska. With the economy being so bad this year, and a major contributor no longer in state, we were extremely worried. Giving this year has been down and the need has been greater than ever. That being said, the community really stepped up in a major way and we could not be more thankful.”
