Alpha Media Honored with Multiple Medallas de Cortez Award Nominations

Alpha Media received a total of 6 nominations for the Medallas de Cortez Awards.

The Medallas de Cortez Awards are dedicated to recognizing the very best in Hispanic radio. These awards are named in honor of Raoul Cortez, founder of the first Spanish-language radio station in the United States, KCOR/San Antonio, in 1946. Raoul Cortez was a visionary for his time and a legend for all times in the annals of Hispanic radio.

Alpha Media EVP of Content, Scott Mahalick commented on the announcement, “We are proud of our great talent representing Alpha Media and thankful for the recognition.”

Nominations are as follows.

Station of the Year – KOYE, East Texas
General Manager of the Year – Cary Camp, East Texas
Local Personality of the Year:
Alberto Alegre, KSAH San Antonio
Jose Luis High, KWLN Wenatchee
Juan Manuel Yanez, KOYE East Texas
Marketer of the Year – Joanna Alvarado, Salt Lake City

Winners will be announced at the ceremony on Tuesday, March 13th as part of the Hispanic Radio Conference at the Intercontinental at Doral in Miami.
