Alpha Media, Mason City Raises Over $29,000 for Children’s Miracle Network
Alpha Media, Mason City, IA is proud to announce Star 106 raised $29,377 for Children’s Miracle Network with the help of McCloskey Appliance during their 10th annual radiothon.
Mason City’s Kids Helping Kids campaign played a large role in the radiothon. The campaign encourages local schools to fundraise while also teaching them the importance of giving back to the community. Listeners are encouraged to do the Hawkeye Wave after donating. This has become very popular at Iowa Hawkeye Football games where at the end of the first quarter, everyone in the stadium turns and waves to the kids at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Star 106 Content Director, Jared Allen commented on the announcement, “Over the 10 years we’ve been doing the radiothon we’ve managed to raise over $325,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network to help the kids at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. It is amazing to see the community help one another!”
