BOB 106.9’s Tim Leary Supports the “Sergeant John Cain Comeback Charity Challenge 5k”!

April 15, 2016 – Alpha Media, Savannah-Hilton Head, GA announced that New Country BOB 106.9’s (WUBB) morning show host, Tim Leary hit the pavement to support the “Sergeant John Cain Comeback Charity Challenge 5k”.

Sergeant John Cain is a Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Officer fighting for his life against pancreatic cancer. More than 250 runners hit the pavement for the “Sergeant John Cain Comeback Charity Challenge 5k” on April 8 at J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill, GA. The theme of the race was “Never Give Up.” Back in November, Sgt. Cain gained Internet fame after he helped injured runner Robert McCoy cross the “Rock N Roll Savannah Marathon” finish line. The 5k raised nearly $10,000 to support Cain’s medical bills. Cain says that all he wants to do now is beat the cancer and come back to work serving the city he loves.

“I want to thank Tim Leary and all of the Bob 106.9 listeners for their support. It was a phenomenal event and we couldn’t have done it without you,” remarked Ron Elliot, race organizer and owner of Game Changers Running Company.
