Broadcasters Foundation of America Presents Ward L. Quaal Leadership Award to Bill McElveen
On April 11, 2018, the Broadcasters Foundation of America presented Alpha Media Executive Vice President Bill McElveen with the Ward L. Quaal Leadership Award. Recognizing career contributions to the broadcast industry, the award was presented in Las Vegas at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, McElveen is a past Chairman of the NAB Radio Board and currently serves as the Radio Chair of NAB’s Political Action Committee, NABPAC. He is also on the Board of Directors of the NAB and of the Radio Advertising Bureau. He is the youngest-ever inductee into the South Carolina Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame.
Prior recipients of the Ward L. Quaal Leadership Award include Deborah Norville, Clear Channel founder Lowry Mays and Larry Wilson, chairman of Alpha Media.
